Honey Lavender Latte

Making a morning coffee is a ritual for many. Something that has made my morning ritual absolutely luxurious, is making homemade Honey Lavender Lattes. Honey Lavender Simple Syrup is so easy to make and can be used to sweeten beverages from coffee to Spring cocktails! Culinary lavender buds are very affordable and can be found in the spice aisle of Whole Foods or other specialty/natural markets. A small price for joy in the morning. Treat yo’self!

This recipe makes a very sweet syrup. It will yield just over 1 cup. Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

INGREDIENTS  

For Honey Lavender Syrup

  • 1 cup water

  • 4 tablespoons dried lavender flowers

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup honey

For Latte

  • 1-2 tablespoon honey lavender syrup (to taste)

  • 2/3 cup of strong coffee

  • 1/3 cup steamed/frothed milk

PREPARATION

For honey lavender syrup

  • Bring water and lavender to a boil. Once it starts boiling, stir in the sugar and keep stirring until fully dissolved.

  • Reduce the heat to the lowest setting and simmer for about 5 minutes. Add in honey and stir.

  • Remove the pot from the heat and allow it to steep for at least an hour.

  • Strain out the lavender and pour the mixture into a clean airtight glass container. Store it in the refrigerator. It will be good for at least a week.

For latte

  • Drizzle honey lavender syrup into your mug.

  • Pour your favorite strong coffee. Stir

  • Add steamed/foamed milk
